FRANCELENE Louis
Francelene Louis holds two master degrees in Psychology and International Relations. Ms. Louis’ education and experience in working in the social service field with individuals with special needs has led her to the journey of wanting to work with young people. For many years Ms. Louis worked in developing countries with low income populations providing counseling, simultaneous, consecutive interpretation services and capacity building. For two years Ms. Louis worked in Haiti after the devastating earthquake as a counselor. Prior to working in Hiait, Ms. Louis worked in Iwakuni, Japan as a counselor on a military base, Paris, France for ACF a non government organization, and completed study abroad programs in Ghana and Egypt.
In her position as a Community Employment Specialist, with AHRC, a nonprofit organization that provides services for the developmentally disabled. Ms. Louis worked with high school students, their families, school personnel and state agency. As a Haitian American woman who immigrated at a young age to the United States, Ms. Louis has benefited from mentorship. Ms. Louis believes that young people need to be motivated and that they have the ability to become anything they want through hard work, focus, and appropriate learning strategies.
